I can't speak for the MAC on the Savage, but I had one on my 77 Honda CB400F, and it was perfect. It held up better in the long run than my Supertrapp is on my Savage. Low revs were fairly quite, over six grand it was way fun. And the price is right. I'd say give it a try.
